Focus not shifted to modal window which appeared in background

For example, gvim is open, the file is modified, so a warning dialog appers, which is modal. If the gvim window was in background while this happened, switching to gvim brings the modal window to foreground (ok) but it doesn't get focus (not ok) so you cannot use it with the keyboard.
