Saves disappear after a reboot

It's possible to make saves in game (the save appears to be created in the save menu, and can also be loaded). However they appear to be lost when the game is exited, because upon rebooting the game no saves are visible in either the save or the load menu.

Happens on both Windows and Linux

Looks like it's just an issue with the game overwriting the common save on boot
