Popup and padding

The space between the popup border and its content appears to be adjustable using padding. By adding negative padding, the content moves closer to the popup border. Is this the correct method? Why does it seem to work fine on iOS, but on Android, I'm experiencing some erratic behavior?

🔹 SetPopupDefaults
Applies globally to all popups in your app.

Think of it as a theme-level configuration.

Example: if you want all popups to have a consistent background color, corner radius, or dismissal behavior, you’d use this.

Once set, every popup inherits these defaults unless explicitly overridden.

🔹 SetPopupOptionsDefaults
Applies to the options object (PopupOptions) that you pass when creating a popup.

It’s more about behavioral defaults (like CanBeDismissedByTappingOutsideOfPopup, animation, etc.) rather than layout.

You can override these per-popup by passing a different PopupOptions when constructing that popup.

🔹 PopupSettings vs PopupOptions
PopupSettings → styling/layout defaults (padding, margin, background, etc.), usually global.

PopupOptions → runtime behavior (dismissal, animations, etc.), usually per-popup.

You don’t want to use SetPopupDefaults for this, because that affects all popups. Instead:

Use SetPopupDefaults if you want all popups styled the same.

I use service to show a popup, something like var result = await popupService.ShowPopupAsync<TPopupViewModel, TReturn>(Shell.Current, CreatePopupOptions(), dataToPass);

OK; what about constructor, can you add Margin to the popup constructor? Look code above from AI.

With padding 0 vertically, "Filtro" should be near the margin on the top

so, is shape the problem?

Looks like the shape also adds some border to it. @bijington can we add shape with Margin/Padding = 0? Can not find it here in the docs.

Ok so I think the issue is that the Border control used internally in the popup is creating the padding effect due to the corner radius being applied. You should be able to reintroduce the corner radius if you want by keeping Shape set to null and wrapping the content inside your own Border as a workaround until I workout whether this is a bug or intended behaviour
