Obtainium is supposed to "just work" when the Gitlab project URL is entered, no additional configurations would be required. However, a recent change from Gitlab unfortunately broke the feature. You can follow the related issue: ImranR98/Obtainium#1742 - Can't update auto-auto-rotate to be notified when the bug is fixed.

Not sure if it have some influence that the dev is putting the apk link in the NOTE part of the release.
and not with the other source files, or don't matter?

It does indeed have an affect on this:
If the APK is added to the release via Gitlab features like job artifacts (files built by automatic processes) or package registry, it counts as a "release asset", and Gitlab API response will contain the full link to it.
If the APK is added as an attachment to text content (issues, merge requests, release notes, ...), it becomes a "project upload", and we have to parse the text content in markdown format to get the partial link.
I think that there aren't more issues about this being submitted, is because most app authors just use package registry to store file uploads of releases, therefore most Obtainium use cases don't hit the bug.
