Any thoughts on publishing to luarocks?

I am currently using neovim 0.5 with lspconfig. I would like to start using this language server. I feel like publishing on luarocks would decrease the barrier of entry to using this language server.

Maybe I am blind and missed it on luarocks.

The main reason is that I have never used luarocks, because I only develop on Windows.
In addition, I am using the modified lua5.4, which strengthens the support for utf8 in windows. So I am not sure if it can run normally in luarocks.

Great question. I am new to Lua, so all these various distributions is something I'll have to learn. Didn't know there were Windows developers out in the wild :).

I've taken a look at the project and have strong feeling that it is too much self-contained. I.e. hard to integrate into existing ecossytem like LuaRocks.
Am I wrong?

I am not a C++ programmer, nor do I have a great understanding of the more in-depth details of the language server (especially its beginning), but as far as I understand, the language server is dependent on bee.lua, a custom (and seemingly purpose-built?) Lua runtime, written in C++. This runtime provides the ability to interact with the filesystem, manage threads, better support unicode, and more.

I don't have a lot of experience with LuaRocks either, but if it is unable to compile bee.lua, then I believe it is not possible to publish to LuaRocks.

There are many lua module only work for neovim not standard lua, however, they still be published to luarocks. https://luarocks.org/search?q=neovim
