vim not found #339

Problem

I want to invoke neovim using vim and/or vi, not nvim. After using bob to install neovim, my shell doesn't recognize vim (nor vi).

Steps to reproduce

  1. sudo apt-get uninstall neovim
  2. cargo install --git https://github.com/MordechaiHadad/bob.git
  3. bob use stable
  4. vim

Attempted workaround

I tried creating a symlink like this: ln -s /home/my-user/.local/share/bob/nvim-bin/nvim /home/my-user/.local/share/bob/nvim-bin/vim. I expected that this would cause vim to point to nvim and that would create an alias. This is fairly common in /usr/bin.

However, running vim just somehow ran bob. Very confusing.

Question

Is there an official way to create additional shell commands for invoking neovim? Or is there a way to get vi, vim, and nvim to all be aliases for "execute the version of neovim installed by bob?"
