[Bug]: failed to save settings

Describe the bug

Discord user nateaune reports:

i just installed the Chrome extension and have the desktop Mac client running
when i try to save settings on this screen, i get an error:

by process of elimination, i discovered that the error is triggered, when i click the checkbox "Record active element state" and then click Save Settings. similarly, if i click the "Record images" checkbox, and click Save Settings, that also triggers the error.
