Consider archiving repository metadata (issues, PRs) somewhere

Mostly for actively-developed projects with a lot of stored context. There should be tools to automate this, e.g., via the GitHub API.

GitLab also uses issues and PRs, but I'm not aware of any relevant project that's using the platform nowadays.
