Will future updates be released for MODX 2.x?

I'm finding some inconsistencies (and possible bugs) in file upload behaviour, and I'm also considering to have a crack at some open issues involving the math hook.

Will the 2.x branch still be supported? And if so: what would be the best strategy to fix issues in both versions? Work on the 3.x branch, and then cherry pick some changes back into 2.x?

It would also be nice if all PHP8 warnings could be resolved for the 2.x version still.

@hugopeek We are not actively spending time on keeping this working for MODX2.

A way to make this work on both is by having two versions on modx.com I guess. One which supports up to 2.x and one which supports a minimum of 3.0.0. Both could live besides eachother in their own Formit branches.
