What is the plan for this kernel? #155

I have been using it successfully for quite some time, but the latest release of Wolfram Engine (14.3) seems to break the rendering (for instance using MaTeX to use Latex within plots results in invisible output, it seems like black and white are now swapped by default, possibly because of the new dark mode in 14.3?).
More in general, I would like to know if this code is going to be supported / developed further, as the last commit is from three years ago, or if I should start looking for alternatives.
