Can't open downloaded file from Sd card to Phone.

I am downloading recorded video from SD card to my mobile phone by using downloadFile() method , file is getting downloaded but it does't play  in my phone ,showing "can't paly this file " ,I believe this file is getting corrupted in the process of downloading ? Can any one help me to resolve this issue ? Any help much appreciated .
