translation for 'and' word

As I found adding translation for 'and' word in ua.yml (ru.yml) near for time units translation ('month', 'hour' e.g.) does not work:

12 місяців, 2 днів and 07:29:00

Have an idea to solve it (not beautifull idea...)
res.sub('and', 'i') if params[:locale] == 'ua'

I've done the following to handle multiple locales

 time_left = Time.diff date_x, date_y, "%d and %H"
 time_left[:diff].sub! 'and', I18n.t('and')
