I wanted to start discussions here because I think the architectural improvements I want to make will be done in this repo. The UI project will put these improvements into practice a bit later as part of the WPF conversion. I've created a new pinned issue #33 here.

I'm going to write some new issues for this repo as well to clarify some deliverables. I said I need to do a better job of coordinating our efforts, so I'm starting now!
