Executive Summary

This plan enables deployment of the MCP Gateway Registry solution on AWS ECS Fargate without managing Kubernetes (EKS) or individual EC2 instances. By leveraging the proven Terraform module from yubingjiaocn/agent-framework-tf, we can achieve a highly available, multi-AZ production-grade deployment with managed infrastructure.

SSL/TLS Certificate Management

Current Issue

The Terraform module does NOT automate certificate generation. This is a CRITICAL PRODUCTION ISSUE.

Recommended Solutions

Option 1: AWS Certificate Manager (ACM) + ALB Termination (RECOMMENDED)

Advantages:
✓ AWS manages certificate renewal automatically
✓ Free certificates (no ongoing costs)
✓ HTTPS termination at ALB (offloads from containers)
✓ Supports wildcard certificates

Implementation:
1. Request ACM certificate for domain (free)
2. Add HTTPS listener to ALB (port 443)
3. Point listener to certificate
4. Modify Terraform: add listeners to ALB

Option 2: Let's Encrypt via Certbot in Container

Advantages:
- Certificates free
- Works without changing ALB

Disadvantages:
✗ Requires renewal automation in container
✗ Renewal failures can cause outages
✗ Container restarts interrupt renewal
✗ Renewal latency in startup

Cost Impact: Free (but operational risk)
Implementation Time: 4-5 hours + testing
NOT RECOMMENDED for production

Option 3: Self-Signed Certificates

Advantages:
- No external dependencies
- Instant deployment

Disadvantages:
