Quick Look color scheme is inverted?

Describe the bug
When I use Quick Look, the background seems to be inverted than what I would expect. For example, if I have the appearance set to "Light", the Quick Look has a dark background. When my appearance is set to "Dark", the Quick Look background is white.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Settings -> Appearance -> Dark
2. Open a url such as https://jsonplaceholder.typicode.com/todos/1
3. Select any element and tap space bar
4. See quicklook window background is white

Expected behavior
Expect background to be dark following appearance mode.

You’re using the Dracula theme, which only comes with a dark theme.

You can change the theme to any other themes to have it auto-switch with the system.

Actually I was using the "Candy" theme. I tried changing to Dracula, Meadow, Github, Monokai, and they all show inverted color theme when using Quicklook. Would you mind taking another look please? Thanks!

I see. I can reproduce this issue as well now.

I’ve taken some time on it. It’s a very strange problem.

It looked like the preview was not following the app’s appearance setting. But it did, just not entirely. The background somehow added an opacity to itself. But the other colors were indeed in dark mode.

Even I forced the entire app to be in dark mode by explicitly setting the appearance to dark Aqua, the Quick Look window still behaved differently when macOS were in different appearance. So I incline to believe that Apple made some changes in the QuickLook framework in macOS 15.

So far I don’t know how to fix this. I will try again when Xcode 16.2 is out.
