Concluded that F-droid suffered some sort of cybercrime attack since F-droid's search no longer includes the most common used apps (such as Video Transcoder)

It looks like F-Droid does not have any apps matching your search string "Video Transcoder"

That app was the sole reason that I used F-droid's app store (other than to install Hacker's Keyboard, which was the sole app with <alt> and arrows, but was replaced with Google Store's Unexpected Keyboard).

• Am glad that you found some archived F-droid resource which still allows to download, but note this is no longer searchable on F-droid's app store.
• For Android 12+ , Google's app store lists Video Transcoder as "Incompatible with your device" and refuses to install, although the archived resource to install Video Transcoder installs and allows normal use.

For those whose "Device Policy" has "Third-Party apps" disabled (such as on most business phones), you can use Google Store to install Termux (through which you execute pkg install ffmpeg, which is the backend which powers Video Transcoder).
For local instructions; pkg install man && man ffmpeg.

The app has been archived, yes, hence it's app details page is missing from the website.

It now lives in the Archive section of the repo, enable that in client in the repo settings.
