Description
There are occasions, however, when I cannot avoid assuming something,
i.e. making a statement that I see as probable but that I am not completely sure about.
In these cases, a ‘conjecture’ image has been placed in the left margin of the paragraph
where I am making such an assumption. The image aims to graphically represent the
assumption. At other times, I have no choice but to admit that I don’t know
something and I don’t even have a reasonable assumption about it: in this case,
the image visible to the immediate left in the margin is meant to represent more
than just conjecture or ignorance. But as I have never been very good with graphic
representations, I am not sure that the images I have selected really manage to
convey so many nuances.
This is not clear. One may not perceive the images correctly which may cause discomfort or
confusion in the mind of the reader. In other words, one systematically comes to wonder what
these images represent.
The solution is to analyze each image.
In the lambda image, you can see this and that. This represents this or that.
