Async polling wait parameter does not work

I'm using docling serve version 1.5.1 with the local engine.

The documented wait parameter on the endpoint /v1/status/poll/{task_id}?wait=5 does not appear to have any effect.

The wait parameter on /v1/status/poll/{task_id} in docling-serve 1.5.1 is documented, but it's not actually implemented as described. The endpoint currently ignores the wait value and returns immediately, regardless of what you set. This is a known gap between the docs and the code, and it's related to how the orchestrator handles task status polling—specifically, it checks a local in-memory registry before Redis, which can break expected async polling behavior, especially in distributed setups. There's an open discussion about this and proposed solutions to make polling truly distributed and persistent by storing task metadata in Redis and querying it directly, but as of 1.5.1, the wait parameter does not work as intended see issue #378.
