Upgrading to golang 1.16.1+ #1560
Description
Why you need it?
Currently used version of golang (1.12) is old. The newer versions introduce multiple improvements, including for example better memory management.
How it could be?
I would like to currently used version of golang to be changed 1.16.1. No regressions are expected and it has to be tested.
Other related information
It would be great to receive some feedback on this change in this issue. Question from the top of my head is why this upgrade was not done earlier? Maybe there are some valid reasons behind this decision, that I'm not aware of
