CDT 12.4.0 and CDT LSP 3.5.0 for SimRel 2026-03

This is the tracking issue for the next CDT release.

The full steps to prepare a branch at the beginning of development and handle the release is documented in the RELEASING.md file. This issue serves as a way to publicly document notes about release process that interested parties can subscribe to.

There are endgame issues for CDT LSP which often aligns releases with CDT. In addition, if there are multiple releases (branches) active at once then you can browse those CDT endgame issues too.

This issue will track CDT and CDT LSP release for SimRel 2026-03 - see the 2026-03 wiki for dates and details. As a reminder, CDT publishes its milestone to SimRel on the Monday of release week. e.g. for 2026-03 M1 the days is "Friday, January 9, 2026" but CDT aims to publish by Monday, January 5.

No, there is no more recent recipe - this information should be added to https://github.com/eclipse-cdt/cdt/blob/main/RELEASING.md though.
