Sometimes `org.gnome.desktop.interface.color-scheme` gets stuck on one value

What Happened?

I noticed that the light/dark toggles in the settings and quick-settings were not working anymore.

Changing org.gnome.desktop.interface.color-scheme manually via dconf-editor works. Changing the mode via quick-settings does not reflect the change in dconf nor does the system theme change.

Expected Behavior

The Light/Dark theme toggles in the settings and quick-settings should change the theme.

Since Settings Daemon 8.3.0 we carry our own gsettings for color-scheme. However, settings daemon does also update the GNOME key since it's used by Mutter.

Can you confirm the version of elementary settings daemon you have installed with the following Terminal command:
sudo apt-cache policy io.elementary.settings-daemon

This command will require administrative permissions, but it only lists the installed version. It won't perform any package operations
