unclear when I change or add something, what to do

Let's say I add somethong to the about page, how can I make the change visible.
Do I recompile and start again?
(I've noticed it detect changed, but I don't see the change happen)
perhaps it has something todo that I did make [enter] by accident?
It always returns the old stuff to me (even after I recompile, or even after I delete the executable first, recompile and then run)
