Build fails with undefined reference to __wrap_esp_log_write and undefined reference to __wrap_esp_log_writev if using WiFi.

No other steps. It compiles if Log Level is set to "No output" or "Use external log wrapper" is enabled

Please post your platformio.ini. It compiles without error in Arduino IDE.

I'm not using platformio, but the esp-idf extension. I couldn't compile my project with v3.3.0 anymore and thought there was something wrong with my project. So I used the Arduino hello world example from the component registry to generate a fresh project. That compiled with no errors. Then I just added the two Wi-Fi lines and got the build errors.

Hello. I have the same issue since the v3.3.0 update with the BLE library (undefined reference to `__wrap_esp_log_write').

I'm using VScode with the ESP-IDF extension and "arduino-esp32" as component. I had tried to use library example code (ex. Notify.ino) but still have that same error (the code compiled but there was an error at linker stage).

Everything still works fine if switch to IDF 5.4.2 and arduino-esp32 3.2.1. Is there something new that needs to be set in menuconfig in order for this to work?

I can confirm that using 3.3.0 using IDE there is no issue. But when using it as component for IDF 5.5.0 the error is there. With both idf sdkconfig and using Arduino`s sdkconfig.

@axtar @dddGR It can be fixed by enabling "Use external log wrapper" in sdk config:
It can be enabled at Component config -> Diagnostics -> Use external log wrapper.

Yes, my current solution is to disable all the BLE related to the log output.
Just want to know if this is a bug in the library or if there is anything that changed in a recent update that i need to set in menuconfig for that to work.

A quick side note, when i go through the BLE code to find anything unusual. In the BLESecurity class have a set of member variables that are declared static but don't have a definition for them outside the class. That leads to linker error when i try to build (ex. undefined reference to 'BLESecurity::m_authReq'). This is only in v3.3.0.

My solution for now is to manually add these lines to BLESecurity.cpp.

@lucasssvaz I'm using esp32-s3, though I have tried to switch to esp32 and esp32-c3 but still got that same error. In menuconfig, i just enable bluetooth and BLE 4.2 features. Everything else is just in the default state.
