Official Discord/Slack Channel

I was wondering if there's an official Discord or Slack channel where I can discuss the project?

This is more up to Gordon I think.

My initial thoughts:

• I would not personally want to run/moderate such a channel.
• I would probably hop in to see if there is some activity from time to time.
• the Gadgetbridge project uses a matrix chat room for this. That could be an alternative.
• moving away from the forum would probably mean it's harder to keep track of and search previous discussions?

I'm quite content with the forum - but I like the enthusiasm 🌞🙌

@thyttan : It shouldn't replace the forum; it could be used for reminders, but it should provide another, faster communication channel.
It might work, or it might not.

You could have real-time voice discussions.
Ask for support for technical or programming issues.

There is already an Espruino chat on Gitter that's been active for years and is linked from the GitHub repo: https://gitter.im/espruino/Espruino

If there are other places I could link it that'd be more obvious let me know though!

Personally I'm not actively looking at it though, because when I was I found I was spending vast amounts of my day (and evening) answering questions on it and wasn't actually getting any work done.

In general if you have questions the forum does work out well because it gets indexed by Google, so it's more likely someone else who has the same problem will actually be able to find the answer.

edit: I should add there's also a slack channel for Espruino Patreon members (https://www.patreon.com/c/espruino) as that's slightly more manageable for me to answer, but that's usually pretty quiet!
