You can try with an older release. Anyway this repo is only intended as a way to easily download the latest version as a pre-compiled binary. Bugs about pycdc can be reported upstream.

Bugs such as this is a common issue with decompilers atleast as far as the current versions of Python are concerned. You can try to check which part of the bytecode is failing and may be try to manually decompile that part.

How can I decompile manually?

By looking at the bytecode disassembled listing and figuring out the Python code that may have generated the instruction sequence. Basically the reverse of compiling.
