Controller input does not work when using a DualSense Edge on Linux

I use a DualSense Edge on Linux (and via Bazzite controller emulation on my Ally) and I'm not able to get controller input working without switching to Proton Beta. The DualSense shows up as "Wireless Controller" and calibration doesn't work.

How can I get more information so the root cause can be diagnosed?

had the same issue with my dualshock, setting wine version to legacy 8.5 in launcher options solved it for me

Hi all, I can confirm this is still happening on latest, and the above suggestion from onkel-serg is a workaround. Luckily, there doesn't seem to be a substantial performance drop between legacy Wine and stable. The issue also occurs on the modded 10.8 beta as well.

Same thing is happening for me and switching wine to 8.5 fixes it. Without switching wine it doesn't allow me to apply any steam controller layout changes. It also doesn't recognize the select button properly in the FFXIV controller calibration menu.

This issue used to occur in XIVLauncher-RB with Proton 10.15 as well, but it seems to have been fixed recently (since Patch 7.31). Side note, this also affected standard Dualsense controllers (non-Edge).

Was having the same issue on NixOS, switching to legacy did fix the issue. Switching to beta did not. I did manage to get it working on stable by disabling hidraw input in wine. Using the Wine Explorer to launch cmd and running control joy.cpl and on the first tab disabling hidraw input fixes the issue on stable.
