Can the text-renderes render small icons?

I want to represent resources with a small icon then a number in a tooltip text.
If I loaded in an image of the same size as the text font, or scaled one to that size, is there any existing ways of doing this?
I mean like
cost: [ICON_1] 50 [ICON_2] 150
If not, could someone help me do this?

KvaGram The text components cannot render images at the moment except in their background. So you could either create a transparent background image and ensure the correct alignment of your text or you need to render the graphics and the text separately.
In our games, we typically use the latter approach.
You could also write a custom ~~~~GuiComponent for your needs that renders the text and images according to your desired alignment.

If you insist on having the icons and the text within the same string, another option would be using a font that contains icons, although that would mean you could only use single-color icons with the same color as your text.

Thank you. I got some ideas on how I could implement it.
If and when I get around to writing it, I will share the code.
If its good, maybe you could consider fitting it in the engine.

I spent more time on this than I probably should. But I did get the normal Text renderer to render the icons.
The rotated text also seems to work fine.
If I spend more time on this, I suppose I could add in support for line-breaks, but I'm taking a break from playing with this feature for now.
Feel free to incorperate the code from my repo into the engine, if you feel like doing so. Though be warned, it might need some cleanup to fit with your code standards.

I just put that together real quick, as I had worked on making placeholder images in awt/swing before.

Well, our default so far was to only render the virtual mouse or a debug equivalent in the engine. Because most games have custom cursors, at some point.

Not yet, I currently have some other pending changes in the engine that I'd like to finish up first but I'll have a look at it for sure because its a very useful extension to the engine. I'm not sure yet though about the exact integration into the engine but your proof-of-concept is definitely helpful there.
