Lightning Network (L2) on UW

Since the Bitcoin Lightning Network (LN) requires a Lightning Network Provider (LNP) to function, it introduces trust in whichever entity assumes the provider role.

If the UW team creates (and manages) its own LNP, we, the UW users, can use it—paying a 1.95 % fee on each LN top‑up—to make Lightning Network payments in UW.

*Naturally, anyone with the technical expertise to host an LNP independently is given a way to add their own self‑managed server.
