Running wireguard on frameo for offsite immichframe deployment

Hi!

Slightly off-topic, but I know there are many fellow Frameo users here that might have a similar use case than mine:

Want to run immichframe on the frameo - got that to run just fine.

I want to deploy the frameo outside my own network, but don't want to expose it to the internet. So ideally, I'd like to run a wireguard vpn back to my home network.

The dream would be to not have to establish a site-to-site vpn but simply run Wireguard on the frameo connecting back home. I've been able to install wireguard, load the config, and get a handshake on the frameo, but every time I leave the Wireguard app on the frameo, it dies:

648 I ActivityManager: Killing 3751:com.wireguard.android/u0a45 (adj 0): user request after error
622 I WindowState: WIN DEATH: Window{1f45da8 u0 com.wireguard.android/com.wireguard.android.activity.MainActivity}

Looked into tailscale as an alternative, but the Frameo Android is too old.

Has anyone here by any chance gone through a similar process and has found a way to get this to run?

I think Frameo only allows a single app to run at a time. As you mention Tailscale doesn't support Android 6. Would sure be nice to get a diferent OS (i.e. Lineage) to run on these. Would solve so many issues.
