break x-axis of psychometric and chronometric functions

the contrast x-axis is dominated by the extremes (-100, 100) which makes it difficult to see the variation along smaller contrast increments. it would be great if the x-axis of these plots can be cut to remove the empty space between e.g. 90 and 40 (as in the old snapshots).
