Forward and backward seeking doesn't work well. Have you improved on this project? Has anyone improved on this project?

The code was really only intended as tutorial code so there definitely are some areas that could be improved. I'll try to take a look over the next few days and either improve the seeking myself or provide some tips as to how it could be improved.
