Link selector isn't working in newer versions "DNS address could not be found", but worked in old version (0.3.5)

I'm getting "DNS address could not be found" when running Link selectors in brave with later versions - the earliest tested was 0.4.5. The latest tested where this issue didn't occur was 0.3.5. What seems to happen is _follow url contents is being resolved as if it was a domain (e.g. in example.com/page it's trying to only resolve "page" not "example.com/page")
