Unable to resolve funscript for local file from HereSphere timestamp server

After updating to v0.461b, I started getting the error "Script for video playing in VR not found". It works fine on v0.452b with the exact same configuration.

I'm using the HereSphere connection setting, and running HereSphere in SteamVR on the same computer as XTPlayer.

(I know XTP Web is the "recommended" connection, and I do like the UI, but I haven't gotten it fully working yet. When I enable "External Player", it doesn't seem to be sending timestamps back to XTPlayer - an issue for another time.)

When I select a video file from HereSphere's file browser, I see that the HereSphere timestamp server provides the absolute path to the file, for example Z:/Videos/video.mp4. v0.452b can find the script located at Z:/Videos/video.funscript, but it seems that v0.461b cannot.

I haven't looked closely at the code yet, but I suspect it might be related to the refactoring of the funscript search code in the recent commit history. Maybe the handling of absolute filepaths was broken during those changes.

Same for me on linux server mode
v0.461b won't load script with Fallback on HereSphere set "/mnt/fs"
Same config on v0.452b will work
All videos and scripts are in the same directory (I have a script that creates symlink for both into this directory)

Sorry im just now seeing this.
That refactor was meant to fix an issue similar to this and it did. Ive made some more changes to the loading of the scripts. Maybe the new version im about to release (0.47b) fixed this? fingers crossed. I have not seen any issue with funscripts in Heresphere my self.

Note, XTP Web is NOT the "recomended" connection. If you select external player you need to specify an external player to sync to. In this case its "Heresphere/Deo"
Only select XTP Web if using the web browser media player.

Thanks for the clarification, I had originally gotten that impression from the XTP and VR guide which lists XTP Web as "the easy way"

Looks like I may tested the wrong version when I thought this was fixed. Still not working on 0.47 when the files are
smb mounted a machine

I keep getting

"XTP WARN 15:45:00:316: Waiting for media paths to load to search for funscripts...."
/mnt/fs is smb mounted with videos and funscripts
XTPlayer -a /mnt/fs

For the path

On my server where with same paths as the machine with mounted smb, it works fine
/mnt/fs is a local file system
XTPlayer -a /mnt/fs

0.45 works fine on machine with smb mount.

I think is has something to do with XTPlayer seeing SMB paths and trying a full UNC path instead on 0.47. I noticed something different in debug messages for the path when I tried NFS mounted.

Is there way to debug and see what path and script it is trying to load? Verbose is too verbose and didn't seem like it showed what it is attempting to load.

My primary XTP device is an orangepi 5 running armbian with mounts in fstab to my NAS running SMB shares. I have always used SMB shares on windows and linux so I know SMB works fine. I even have my thumbs directory shared on my SMB now.
Not really sure whats going on with your setup.

I see in your original post after reading again that you used a mapped Z drive in windows. I don't see why that wouldn't work but I never used that. I always used the \Server\ uri my self.

Ya Verbose probably wont help you. Launch the program with the -d flag. THeres a good amount of log prints in the funscript search code.

I see it says waiting for library to load.
This is the code where is prints that: src
If the library loading process is running still it will not look for the funscript. Is the issues in the library load process perhaps?
