Determining number of lines?

I've been browsing the API for this library, thinking of moving over from the stockholm syndrome that is PangoCairo but from what I'm seeing, it's not possible to determine how many lines are in a text, nor to get a specific line in a multi-line text while using SDL_ttf.

Is this correct? And if so, is there any particular reason why it's not possible to do this?

You can obtain the number of lines in a text by accessing the num_lines field from the TTF_Text object. This struct appears in the documentation, it's not opaque.
