• Use the tun0 interface, rather than physical ones
• Would be nice to have a real network boot program, rather than the vmlinux I choose - is there one on github anywhere ?

the tun0 interface won't work with this setup with two VMs (but it will work with your setup VM + host). What about creating a separate subdirectory in this repo with that specific setup and this patch?
