Ubuntu 24.04 and 22.04 are two different releases. Mail-in-a-box currently only supports 22.04. So it's not about the capitalization 😉

24.04 is LTS. when will this the most current and secure distro be supported?

22.04 is current, secure, and supported. Upgrading might bring some benefits, but frankly it's too much work (which I've not noticed you offering to do) for too little gain. The next supported release will be 26.04, the next LTS.

22.04 is also LTS. It will probably never be supported. Mail-in-a-Box maintainer policy is to skip an LTS, so the next target is 26.04.
If you're up to it, it is relatively simple to get 24.04 working, see #2486. As a bonus, you get free maintenance work to support MiaB upgrades 😉
