Thanks for the feedback here. What do you think of:

• Edit files. Type # to add context.
• Provide instructions. Type # to add context.
• Ask a question. Type # to add content, @ to chat with extensions, or / to use commands.

The length of placeholder text is my only concern with using full sentences, especially in Ask mode.

Revised to Add Context (#) , Extensions (@), Commands (/) for all modes. Removed dedicated 'Chat with Extensions' button. This works best because:

• Instructions are cut off in the default chat panel width.
• First sentences like 'ask a question' are redundant to mode title.
• Removing first sentence standardizes the experience across modes now that they all support context extensions and commands.
• No need to have dedicated @ button in ask mode.
