Email setup help! #668

Hi, I am after a bit of help/guidance on setting up the email function.
I have installed wireguard -ui using the option of downloading and running ./wireguard-ui. Everything works brilliantly, except I cannot figure out how to setup the email part.
I have researched this and most things point to setting environmental settings, but I cannot find where to set them. I have set them in the etc/environment file and rebooted, but no joy!
Another option I have seen is to create a .env file somewhere, but not sure where this would go. Any help would be appreciated!
