Redesign Events-Screen

In ILIAS, old UI components are gradually being removed and replaced by new ones, and the Opencast plugin must follow suit. One of the components, for example, is the table, which will be removed in one of the next releases.
In this ticket we can discuss the alternatives and determine how we want to do the redesign. The implementation can be done for ILIAS 9 or for ILIAS 10, depending on how we want to define it.

We discussed the redesign in today's meeting. The decisions made and further steps are listed below. For detailed information, please refer to the minutes.

Decision:

• Entities will be implemented, but only for ILIAS 10, as there is currently no responsiveness available for Entities

Next steps:

• Create issue for missing responsiveness of Entities (DONE: https://mantis.ilias.de/view.php?id=45603) > Depending on further clarifications and developments, possibly integrate entities into ILIAS 9 after all (if responsiveness becomes possible soon).
• At the same time: start conversion to entities for ILIAS 10
• Discussion on tiles postponed until later, as opinion-forming is planned in Bonn. Bonn will communicate it's opinion via Github Dicussions or Matrix Chat. Trend: remove tiles from ILIAS 10.

Update: In yesterday's meeting, we also discussed removing the tile view. Bonn wanted to clarify this internally. This has now been done, and Bonn also sees “no valid reason to keep it and thus justify the increased costs.” Cologne, Constance, Bern, sr.solutions, and ELAN agree. Only Fresenius had spoken out in favor of “keeping it and optimizing it selectively” during the first discussion on this topic in February 2025. Therefore, the decision has been made and the tile view will definitely be removed for ILIAS 10.

   "So far, only the display of events as entities is working, but I have tried to make the display as good as possible, also in terms of responsiveness. The display now goes up to three columns on very large monitors. However, it is not yet perfect. And why actions such as playback etc. don't work yet: I'm currently reworking the handling of these functions so that a) they become more reusable and b) above all, more understandable for developers. Because over the years, it has become a huge mess, partly with PHP files containing 1200 lines of code, which no one can read and understand properly. I always stumble over it.
   In summary, you can now see what it might look like, but it's not yet functional. I'll continue working on it after my holidays."
