Create a SNMP adaptor using this library?

There are lots of tools that use SNMP to query network devices. It would be lovely if this library could be used to create a persistent process that returns SNMP data for the switch.

I am just finishing up a Zabbix template with LLD support and automatic graph generation. The assumption is that Zabbix Agent 2 will be used to get the metrics. You would define one Zabbix host per switch, each referencing the agent on localhost. Macros would carry the password and target switch info. With this, multiple switches could easily be monitored.

The additional capabilities in the python script deployed to support Zabbix (--lld and per port/metric returns) could be applied elsewhere. That said, I'll leave to somebody else to put in support for implementing other solutions.
