HTML or SVG layer support in renderPerEdge?

I'd like to render custom HTML or even SVG content at edge end positions, basically to create custom arrow head shapes and styles. Is this possible? Looking at renderPerEdge in edges.ts it looks like only the canvas layer is supported for edges. Or am I missing something?

Very impressed with the rendering performance of this extension, by the way! This is by far the most performant avenue I have found for rendering HTML/SVG content on top of and within Cytoscape.js graph elements.

that is currently not supported since cytoscape.js itself is canvas based and the arrows are canvas paths2ds.

Thank you, I'm familiar with the built-in Cytoscape.js edge arrow styling options. I was hoping to render HTML (or SVG) DOM elements at edge end (or edge start) positions, similar to how renderPerNode can use the HTML (or SVG) layer to render DOM elements at node positions. I realize this is not currently implemented, so I guess it's more of a feature request than a question. Thanks!

I realized that I can actually make use of renderPerNode to achieve what I want, using Cytoscape.js core functionality for determining the relevant edge endpoint positions. Sorry for the noise! Please feel free to close this if and as you see fit.
