The map control is no longer working

We have been using this control for several years and the developers who have worked on this are no longer with the company, our website is live and there are more than 1000 users using it everyday, it would be a great help if you can throw some light in how to fix this issue.
This is the javascript error I am getting.
Uncaught ReferenceError: VEMapMode is not defined

@crpietschmann , it looks like https://github.com/simplovation/WebMapsVE/blob/master/Web.Maps.VE/Map.js isn't being served in version 4. When I look at the javascript served from the call to scriptresource.axd I see what appears like the old version of the js and the problem reference to:
this._MapMode = VEMapMode.Mode2D;
That line isn't there in the map.js file here on github.

Also, we still see this in the source on the browsers with a reference to 6.3. Shouldn't it reference a newer version?

I'm happy to help get a fix in if you can point me in the right direction. I donwloaded source and built it on my machine.

I have downloaded the latest code from Github, this is the error I am seeing now

Please help, this is happening on Chrome and Firefox gives a different error

Looks like Microsoft shutdown Bing Maps AJAX Controls v6.3 on July 31st 2017. There for this solution would have to be upgraded to v8.
