Consider adding support for fuse3

To the best of my knowledge fuse2 is EOL, where the last release was over 4 years ago.

Consider porting the codebase to fuse3 and migrating away from the unmaintained v2 of the library.

Distributions are dropping fuse 2.. please port to fuse 3
