Hello,

I downloaded and compiled the Game2D - Examples.dpr project using Delphi 12.3 Professional. I am running it on a Windows 10 (22H2) virtual machine using Parallels VM (last version).

The application runs very slowly. For example, the menu is sluggish, and when new windows open, they appear empty for about 30 seconds before the images and content are loaded.

I'm not sure what's causing this. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi,

The application is not designed to run inside a virtual machine. Despite some VMs claiming GPU acceleration support, in practice, I've found that it doesn't work reliably—especially for graphics-heavy frameworks like Game2D. For best performance and stability, I recommend running it directly on physical hardware (bare metal).

is there any more detailed documentation for Game 2D? I started creating in it and without documentation it's quite challenging. Otherwise GREAT!!! I've been looking for something like this for a long time!

Thanks for the kind words! Documentation is in progress. In the meantime, feel free to ask any questions, I'm happy to help. Tell me what you’re building and where you’re getting stuck (setup, game loop, input, assets, etc.) and I can share examples or a minimal starter to get you moving.

Hi, are you still working on this library? It's been quiet here for a while...
I found a few problems that probably need to be fixed so that everything works properly. So far, these are a few issues in .core (e.g. due to sound, GUI implementation, coordinate conversion) and mainly .network which is not finished and unfortunately not functional enough.
It would be a shame to abandon such a well-started project, do you plan to continue? I'm not a great programmer, but I could help you, for example as a tester.

I took the liberty of making a few corrections to the code. Without them, 1. the sound didn't work, 2. the coordinates were being converted incorrectly (VirtualToScreen). I'm attaching them. Please take a look to see if it's correct or if I just misunderstood something... :-) But there are still mainly problems with the network... that's where you should focus when you have time. ;-)
Otherwise, NitroPascal looks very interesting!
