Q: timeout

i have been running this for a while, one issue i have left is that if the mqtt broker for some reason is either to slow in responding or if the machine for some reason has crashed the script will also crash

are there a way to get arround this so it will just retry on next attempt rather that doing an exit?

of course right now its running fine but i did try and stop the EMQX broker and i got this which looks very similar

The MQTT client times out communicating with the MQTT broker.

• did you check the network connection
• is there anything interesting in the broker logs?

Looking at your code, it seems the sensor entities are created with every loop cycle - maybe you overload the broker with too many client connections? - try to move sensor entity creation outside the main loop and just update the sensors in the context of the loop.

yes... it does time out at random interval

not looked at them yet, i need to find where they are

a the loops happen at 30 sec interval so would not say i overload it

still runs... but the Q in my head still remains, how do i prevent it exiting if say the mqtt broker crashes

this after all is controlling an electrical heating panel and it would get cold pretty fast during the winters

and just discovered that 2 hours ago the controls are no longer there

need to thinker what it could be, but seems the script has to be stopped and started every 22 hours or so
