Current Project Status: TalentSol is a hobbyist AI/ML project designed to demonstrate modern web development practices and serve as a testing interface for ML models. It's not yet production-ready for actual recruitment use.

The issues you are experiencing are related to the current development state of the project. Let me explain what is happening and how to resolve it:

Current Issues Explained

1. Cache System Error (cacheManager is not defined)
   This error occurs because TalentSol includes an advanced Redis-based caching system that requires additional setup. The system is designed to gracefully fallback to in-memory caching, but the health check is reporting this as "unhealthy."

2. Demo Mode Activation
   The frontend is designed to automatically switch to demo mode when the backend is unavailable or not properly configured. This is actually a feature - it allows you to explore the UI even when the backend isn't fully set up.

Quick Resolution Steps
Option 1: Run with Demo Data (Recommended for Testing)
The easiest way to get TalentSol running is to use the built-in demo mode.

Backend Setup:
cd backend
npm install
cp .env.example .env

Edit .env with basic PostgreSQL connection

npx prisma generate
npx prisma db push
npm run data-minimal # Generates 50 candidates, 50 applications
npm run dev

Frontend Setup:
npm install
npm run dev

Option 2: Full Production Setup
For a complete setup with all features:

1. Install Redis (optional - will fallback to in-memory cache if not available)
2. Configure PostgreSQL with proper credentials
3. Set environment variables in backend/.env
4. Run full data generation: npm run data-full

Other Notes

1. Redis is optional - the system will work without it using in-memory caching
2. Demo mode is intentional - it allows UI exploration without full backend setup
3. The project is in active development - some features may require additional configuration

I solve issue of cache memory and demo mode.. This is good that we can explore UI even if backend is not connected.
Yes I can sense product is not ready for production environment in recruitment, as I was trying to add candidates from portal itself but many things are not working as expected. but Overall idea and UI is very nice and very user friendly. I am looking for similar user experience for my recruitment team.
