This PR is removing the fallback code in wpcomsh that was needed when we refactored the Error_Handler class.

Closes: CONNECT-31

Jetpack product discussion

Does this pull request change what data or activity we track or use?

Testing instructions:

  • Create a WoA dev site. I recommend switching to Classic view in the general settings to override Calypso. If this is an old dev site, make sure you are running the latest Jetpack release candidate version.
  • Create a secondary admin account and connect it.
  • Log in as the secondary admin and delete the primary admin account via cli. Do not transfer ownership.
  • Run JP debugger tool and use the Restore user connection button (but don't force create a missing account!). This will trigger the error.
  • The error should show up in the Jetpack dashboard and My Jetpack for the secondary admin. Button to create an account should work.
  • Use beta tester to load this PR for the wpcomsh plugin. Everything should be the same.

Are you an Automattician? Please test your changes on all WordPress.com environments to help mitigate accidental explosions.

  • To test on WoA, go to the Plugins menu on a WoA dev site. Click on the "Upload" button and follow the upgrade flow to be able to upload, install, and activate the Jetpack Beta plugin. Once the plugin is active, go to Jetpack > Jetpack Beta, select your plugin (WordPress.com Site Helper), and enable the update/protected-owner-error-cleanup branch.

Interested in more tips and information?

  • In your local development environment, use the jetpack rsync command to sync your changes to a WoA dev blog.

Code Coverage Summary

This PR did not change code coverage!

That could be good or bad, depending on the situation. Everything covered before, and still is? Great! Nothing was covered before? Not so great. 🤷
