Using Simplicity Studio For Dev

  • Plug lizard board into cable on starter kit board; tail of cable toward tail of board; blue pin 1 on cable toward speaker.

  • Plug starter kit usb into host computer. power the lizard board

  • Start simplicity studio

  • Navigate to sstudio home screen (house icon in upper left).

  • Wait for sstudio to detect starter kit.

  • Go to "Kit Manager" in top row of icons on right in sstudio.

  • Set debug mode to "mcu", wait. Set debug mode to "out". Orange LED next to debug cable should come on. Close kit manager.

  • At the "Detected Hardware" window, go to the hard-to-see drop-down menu for the Starter Kit and say "Select Target Part".

  • Push the "Detect Target" button. When it doesn't fully work, push it again. Say OK.

  • Open "Simplicity IDE".

  • Go to the project code.

  • When ready, hit the "Build Button" (hammer in the "Development Perspective").

  • Then hit the "Debug Button" (little bug in the "Development Perspective".)

  • Then hit "Resume" (play icon in the "Debug Perspective").

  • You should now be running your code.
