timer variable was undefined

Could this PR be merged into main? It fixes the extension on Ubuntu 21.10 (will try it also on 22.04 in next days). |

I was getting the error 'timer is undefined' and this worked pretty well for me ! Thanks |

'timer' variable was undefined in some cases. Moved it inside the if block. Tested and works for Gnome 41.2
