Lego NXT Problems

I have noticed that sometimes the NXT-G software doesn't seem to install correctly.

Software crashes after start up

Description

1. Screen shows its hangs-up on "loading XML".
2. Crashes soon after the program starts.

Solution

1. Uninstall Adobe Flash
2. Install the NXT-G software from the CD
3. Re-install Adobe Flash

Description

1. Error message "Unable to find resource!"

Solution

1. Insert NXT CD
2. Run "<CD_DRIVE>:\Bin\Products\LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT Software\NXT_LEGO_MS\Mindstorms.msi"
3. Select Uninstall
4. Run "<CD_DRIVE>:\Bin\Products\LEGO MINDSTORMS - English\LEGO_Eng\MinstormsEng.msi"
5. If Possible Select Uninstall, Else Exit
6. Run and install "<CD_DRIVE>:\Bin\Products\LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT Software\NXT_LEGO_MS\Mindstorms.msi" again while copying the install directory
7. Run and install "<CD_DRIVE>:\Bin\Products\LEGO MINDSTORMS - English\LEGO_Eng\MinstormsEng.msi" again, paste the install directory from step 7 into the install directory here.
8. Profit ?

So there have been a few problems with the Lego NXT boards since we started the project. We have noticed that for some of the Lego NXT bricks the sounds didn't work, and for other, the screen doesn't seem to work (it flickers on some bricks).

Fixing the Sound:

The sound seem to get fixed with updating the firmware of the brick.
